Rica is a globe-trotting life coach-in-training, dedicated to empowering independent minority travelers, aka: “rich aunties & uncles”, to explore the world on a budget through travel hacking. Previously a Marketing Manager for a telecoms company, Rica now channels her professional skills toward her passion projects in travel and financial empowerment and is currently open to new remote opportunities in marketing, internal communications, or brand maangement.

After the loss of her mother and best friend in 2014, Rica committed to seeing the world with fresh eyes, visiting a new destination each year to honor her mother’s love of life. A transformative journey to Bali in 2016 with Travel Noire Experiences reshaped her perspective on global travel, especially for Black travelers. By 2018, Rica fully embraced travel hacking, enabling her to check off the last four Wonders of the World in 2022, spending less than $3,000 on what could have easily been a $15,000 journey!

In addition to her travel adventures, Rica is a certified YNAB Budget Coach as of July 2024, and is currently working toward certification as a Travel Coach, aspiring to become a life coach focused on helping minority aunties & uncles achieve financial freedom and enrich their lives through meaningful travel. She also balances her lifestyle as a Barre Instructor at One Body Fitness Studio in Downtown Colorado Springs, bringing wellness into her dynamic life.
